World Pride coming to Toronto in June 2014 (@WP14TO) and we are excited to be part of this special celebration.  Here is the World Pride Toronto's statement about the event:

"This will be an international celebration incorporating activism, education, and the history and culture of global LGBTTIQQ2SA communities. Highlighting Canada’s continued progress in human rights, WP14TO also celebrates the diversity and dynamism of Toronto, one of the world’s most progressive and livable cities."

In celebration of World Pride coming to Toronto, the Rusty Dragons are creating a new team open to ANYONE in this community or their supporters. We'll call it the "World Pride" team and no experience is necessary.  This sport is the fastest growing water sport in the world because it is so accessible.

We will practice near Ashbridges Bay at the Balmy Beach Canoe Club in May and June, and then we compete in two back-two-back special events:  The World Pride Parade on June 29th, then the 130th annual DDRA Canada Day Regatta on July 1st at Toronto's Centre Island.

We'll be keeping this blog updated as our new adventure takes shape.  We look forward to great times together on and off the water.
